Good to know before we start

What is your service area?

I'm currently based in Europe and work with clients everywhere remotely, over video call and digital presentations. For the right project, I'm happy to fly out in person, as long as travel and accommodations are covered (or a private jet happens to be available).

Are you able to work with contractors?

With Full Service Custom Project clients, I work only with my own team of trusted, proven contractors. On other projects, I'll work with yours. Regardless of whose team brings the design to life, regular design and production meetings are mandatory to my process.

How long do projects take?

This varies greatly, from about 2 hours for a design consult only, to several years, depending entirely on the scope of the project and the materials we source.

Are you willing to do just one room?

Absolutely. Good design is good design, and doing one space at a time is actually what a lot of my clients do.

How does purchasing work?

All purchasing of furnishings, custom and semi-custom cabinetry, custom built-ins, window treatments, bedding, art, lighting, and accessories goes through Tatiana Almieri Designs LLC on Full Service Custom Projects. This approach gets you custom results not available to the general public. On other projects, you may purchase on your own and are responsible for coordinating and troubleshooting any issues that come up.

How do you charge for your work?

Each project is unique, and the compensation structure can differ quite a bit depending on what you need done, but there is a common approach. Design Development is billed at a flat rate, calculated from how long similar tasks have taken me in the past. Having done a lot of projects since 2007, I am pretty good at gauging that.

Once we've had a final design presentation, the project moves into Procurement and Oversight, which is billed hourly in 15-minute increments at $235.00 per hour. You'll receive weekly statements, and detailed reports are available within 48 hours of your request.

What happens if we go over the estimated time on the flat-fee portion?

Two scenarios can happen. If I underestimated the hours for the defined scope, I absorb the additional time myself. If instead you'd like more options than the three provided per item, or change your mind about something, additional time is billed at my normal hourly rate, in 15-minute increments.

Who is involved in decision making?

Whoever signs the Design Agreement calls the shots. It's my policy to have all decision makers present at every decision-making appointment. This keeps the process smooth. One partner might think they can speak for the other, but there's always something that comes up later when it's too late to make changes, so having everyone in the room from the start matters.

How does installation work?

As your full service project nears completion, we schedule an Installation Day: furnishings are delivered and installed, custom art is hung, and final touches are made. If you've added the Dazzle Service, your space is also fully accessorized for the complete effect.
